Meet ITG’s New Guest Editor

Let’s address the elephant in the room: where has all of the Into The Gloss content gone? No need to worry, it’s back!

I’m Tahirah Hairston, and for the next few months, I’ll be guest editing for Ashley while she’s gone on maternity leave (This post changed my life and I’ll never moisturize the same again). I’ve been an avid reader of ITG for years, it’s still one of the only beauty blogs I trust for product recommendations and beauty education.

But first, some things about me.

I’m a storyteller (I’ve written, edited and worked for Teen Vogue,* Lenny Letter, *Elle, NY Mag, SSENSE, and more) and I love having conversations with interesting people, writing love letters to my clothing, or asking questions we’re all thinking.

I am the dog mom of an adorable black-and-white Cavapoo puppy named Yohji who I sometimes wash with Olaplex shampoo and spray with Frederic Malle Carnal Flower hairspray. Yes, he feels and smells amazing.

I spend way too much of my free time watching television, so I’m always paying close attention to the beauty moments in TV shows. Succession’s Kendall Roy using Augustinus Bader, South Side’s “Mongolian Curly” episode dedicated to a wig, the makeup and nails in Claws, The Sopranos, and Euphoria.

I have extremely dry skin so I’m very particular about body moisturizers and oils as most of the fancy ones still end up leaving me ashy (and embarrassed).

I’m a skincare and fragrance enthusiast who’s recently become makeup curious. Some of my favorite beauty products right now:
Dieux Deliverance Serum, Medik8 Advanced Night Ceramide Cream, Augustinus Bader Body Oil, Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen, Maison d’Etto Durban Jane, Paula’s Choice Skin-Smoothing Body Treatment and Refy Brow Sculpt.

Currently, I’m reading the Sex and the City book, and will report back on any fun, interesting beauty things I think are worth sharing with you. Should we have a beauty book club?

But back to taking over for Ashley. I’m nervous because I have big shoes to fill and ITG has built such an amazing community I want to bring you content you’ll enjoy, learn from, share with your friends and trust.

So, why not ask you what type of things you’d want to read?

What skincare trends are you dying to learn more about? What new beauty routines and products do you want me to try? Who would you love to see in a Top Shelf? What ingredients are you curious about trying but don’t really understand how they work?

I’ll be taking notes from the comments.
