“Hi! I’m Schae (@Schaebreezy_ ) and I am currently a Social Media Manager at the skincare company Topicals. In my spare time I am a content creator. Merging my passion for visual aesthetically pleasing content and my love of beauty and fashion into one vision.

One of the main reasons I love the beauty space is because I feel like there will always be room to share one’s individual experience. Being a social media manager also means staying up to date on what’s going on in pop culture, and within the beauty and fashion space. The plethora of trends popping up almost weekly keeps me on my toes. Simultaneously it’s taught me how to find my own footing and unique approach. As trends come and go, it’s allowed me to assess what works for me and develop my signature style. Over the years seeing and testing these fads, It’s freeing to experiment and see what feels like me. What a process to accept and learn that not every trend needs to be implemented into my routine.

I love trying new products. I like having my set routine, but when it comes to a new release, sign me up.

For my skincare I’m very glad that I’ve learned more about my skin over the years. I used to dry my skin out terribly and think it was solving my skin concerns. Now I’m a big believer in double cleansing. Right now I’m using the Youth To The People Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm. It gets all my makeup off and leaves my skin silky. For cleanser I reach for the Dermologica Special Cleansing Gel, this leaves my skin feeling clean but not extremely tight and ready to crack. My toner, which is a holy grail for me, is the Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer. If you want to talk about hydration this is it. I use a little to replenish my skin and it instantly feels plump to the touch after using it. If I want to quickly spritz my face and feel refreshed, I love the Auraiha Naturally Luminous Mist & Set Spray. While my skin is still damp I use the COSRX Advanced Snail Mucin Power Essence. This step has been crucial to working with my dehydrated skin. When I reach for serums I usually use ones that help with dark spots or texture. For dark spots, I like the Eadem Milk Marvel Serum which has significantly improved the overall evenness of my skin. My favorite for improving the appearance of the little texture bumps I tend to get is Herbivore Botanicals Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum. This serum works beautifully and makes me feel like I hit the reset button when I wake up the next morning. For daytime, the Klur Immersion Serum Concentrate leaves my skin with a hydrated glow when I mix with a few drops of facial oil. I love this because it helps with moisture retention and living in a state that doesn’t have much humidity it’s important to lock in every drop of moisture I have. To wrap up my skincare, I add a squeeze of Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask as a moisturizer.

First and foremost, I’m a lip gloss girl. My favorites are Tower 28’s Shine Lip Jelly in Chill and the Dior Lip Glow Oil in Raspberry. I love the feel and look of visible hydration it gives my lips. My favorite step, eyebrows. If I don’t do any base makeup, my brows will be done. I use the NYX Lift & Snatch and set them in place with a brow gel. Fluffy brows are my go to over the heavily drawn pomade brows I used to be committed to. For foundation, I always find myself going between the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self Refreshing Foundation and Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint. Both have a beautiful finish that wears really well throughout the day. Since rediscovering the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, I’ve been running through them. If I feel like giving my face a little warmth I use the Juvia’s Place Bronzer in Dark. The formula blends really well and adds great dimension to my face. I love strategically placing blush to play around with my face shape. A standout that I keep in my makeup bag is the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blush in Grateful. Which is this insane bright red that looks gorgeous when it’s diffused.

My body care routine continues to evolve for me. I like to feel indulgent in my routine so I tend to use products that have comforting scents and give me a soothing experience using them. After a long day I want my routine to feel like a treat versus a dreadful process. Some favorites of mine are the Necessaire Body Lotion topped off with Herbivore Botanicals Jasmine Oil. It smells divine and my skin is left super feeling soft to the touch. I also love a good body butter and the NH DLites Whipped Butter in Vanilla just melts into the skin with ease.

My haircare routine changes by need. I have very thick curly hair and usually want to focus on retaining moisture. I feel like haircare is an area I’m always experimenting with. Some of my favorite products to use in my routine are the Bread Beauty Supply line, and the Thick Hair collection by Ouai. They help to detangle and give my curls life.

My beauty philosophy is to do what feels good. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in all the looks and clothing that everyone else has to the point you can forget why you love something for yourself. The root of that for me is making sure I’m doing what feels good for me. It’s also tied back to my spirituality. I really listen to what my inner self needs. If I need a makeup free day, getting out the house to recenter myself I’ll honor that. At the end of the day maintaining “beauty” to myself means pouring back into my cup so I can feel good.

I feel that for myself and others around me, we usually tend to put others first. For myself, learning to care for myself first and foremost has been the biggest lesson so far this year. I usually journal in the mornings and evenings, sit in stillness before I get the day started and my mind starts rushing with all the things I need to. I love to get my nails done once or twice a month. Since I use my hands in a lot of videos it has become a fun part of my routine. For the past 7 years, I’ve been shaping my own brows because I’ve had so many bad experiences, which I can look back and laugh about now. When it comes to decompressing I love to toss my phone to the side and put on a rom-com/early 2000s movie. I am absolutely one of those people who can watch a movie marathon of movies I’ve seen numerous times. They always inspire me to rethink my approach to style and beauty.”
