The new Serola Sacroiliac Belt is the same belt in basic function but with a significant change in comfort and grip. The first layer is changed from cotton to an open-cell urethane foam.
The urethane layer has several advantages over the original cotton layer. The open-cell urethane is breathable, more comfortable, moisture-wicking, and hypoallergenic (so it can be worn directly against the skin). Plus, it conforms to body curves better. Due to its tacky nature it grips so well that it will not move – even on the most active people.
This 3″ wide SI belt combines a non-elastic layer that acts as a stop point for excessive motion, with a strong enough elastic to provide the correct compression and resilience to approximate the normal action of the joint. Together, these forces support, rather than interfere with, the underlying mechanism of pressure variance, cranio-sacral motion, and resist any external forces that may be placed upon the joint by lifting, bending or twisting.
